BRIDGES is an animated short film from Executive Producer WWE Superstar Ettore “Big E” Ewen.
Isolated by the pandemic and deeply affected by the tragic murder of George Floyd in 2020, Ewen and his creative partners, writer/director Jonathan Davenport and cultural journalist Andreas Hale were searching for a way to find solace and inspiration both for themselves and their community. The result was OUR HEROES ROCK, a storytelling collective dedicated to illuminating the many accomplishments and sacrifices made by Black figures throughout our shared history. Bridges is the first film born from that effort.
The story follows a lonely 12 year old girl named MAYA whose bouts of social anxiety keep her from connecting with other kids. When Maya is introduced to the story of RUBY BRIDGES during a field trip at a futuristic Black History museum, Ruby’s story may prove to be the inspiration she needs to face her fears once and for all.
